In her
native Korea, Golumba
received a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Arts and studied
Fine Arts under a variety of Korean masters. For 8 years she
worked as Art Coordinator at the city government centre in
Seoul before opening her own
Art Academy, which she operated for 9 years.
Since coming to
Canada
in 1997, Golumba has devoted most of her time to painting
and taught adult classes and also junior high school
students in a Bedford Academy.
She
operated The Golumba Art Gallery at Black Point for 5 years.
She
continues figure drawing at the
Nova Scotia
Art College
and has participated in international workshops with
instruction from Chang-kee-chee, Brian Antheo, Ron Hazell
and Jeannie Hancock.
She has
earned signature memberships in the Canadian Society of
Painters in Water Color (CSPWC). She captures the beauty of
Nova Scotia
in a unique style which combines the best of eastern and
western painting traditions.
Golumba
has exhibited her work in Korea, China,
and
Canada. She also exhibited
in a number of group shows since her arrival in Nova Scotia.
Her
paintings are currently exhibited at the Art Gallery of Nova
Scotia (Art Sales and Rental Gallery) in Halifax, Jo-Beale Gallery in Peggy’s Cove and The Golumba
Art Studio Gallery in Clayton Park in
Halifax.
